For winning the 2010 Search for Model Solid Waste Management Board Municipal Category, the Solid Waste Action Board-Binalbagan (Swab –bin) is also the recipient for the Hall of Fame Awards during the Closing Ceremonies of the 19th Provincial Environment Week Celebration on June 25,2011. In behalf of the SWAb-bin chairman, Mayor Alejandro Mirasol, Dr, Pearle Pagunsan, action officer, received online slots the award. The award came with a Seventy Five Thousand Pesos (P75,000.00) Cash Prize. The celebrations theme was “Kakahuyan sa Kabukiran kag Kadagatan, Manggad kag Kabuhi sang Katawhan”.
Swab-Bin won the Search for Model Solid Waste Management Board for three consecutive years from 2008-2010 in support to the implementation of Solid Waste Management Program of the Province.
One of the salient features of t he Swab-Bin that makes it stand out among other municipalities is the organization of a technical working group composed of Barangay Action Officers. Monthly evaluation is also held for the municipal Search for Best Barangay in Solid Waste Management. Barangay ordinances regarding the Solid Waste Management in the works for the implementation this year.
